Transbay Transit Center Program, San Francisco, CA

The Program will provide expanded bus and rail service in a new transit center building on the site of the existing terminal at First & Mission Streets. Also included in the Program are bus ramps linking the new transit center to the Bay Bridge and to an off-site bus storage facility, a sub-surface extension of Caltrain to the new transit center building including the construction of a new sub-surface station in the vicinity of Fourth & Townsend Streets, modifications to the existing Fourth & King surface station, a temporary bus terminal for use by buses during construction of the new transit center building. It is anticipated that the new transit center may eventually accommodate not only buses and commuter trains but also a future California High Speed Rail Line and a future extension of rail service across the bay to Alameda County.

CPM provides scheduling and other program controls services to support the URS management team. CPM prepared work breakdown structure and real estate acquisition plan for the program; prepared and updated program schedules using MS Project and Primavera Project Management 5.0; evaluated various schedules taking into account anticipated funding from city, state and federal sources; coordinated utility relocations; participated in finalizing implementation strategies and construction packaging plans; and prepared many presentations to the funding partners and Transbay Joint Powers Authority Board.
